¡Oh Gran Espíritu!
cuya voz oigo en los vientos
y cuyo aliento da vida a todo el mundo, escúchame!.
Soy pequeño y débil, necesito tu fuerza y sabiduría.
Déjame caminar en la belleza y hacer que mis ojos contemplen para siempre el ocaso rojo y púrpura.
Haz mis manos respetuosas de las cosas que has hecho y mis oídos agudos para oír tu voz.
Hazme sabio para que pueda entender las cosas que has
enseñado a nuestro pueblo.
Déjame aprender las lecciones que ocultaste en cada hoja y piedra.
Busco fuerza, no para ser más fuerte que mi hermano, sino para luchar contra mi peor enemigo, – yo mismo –
Haz que siempre esté listo a acudir a ti
con manos limpias y ojos rectos.
De modo que cuando la vida se desvanece como el sol en el ocaso, mi espíritu pueda acudir a ti sin vergüenza.

Oh Great Spirit!
whose voice I hear in the winds
and whose breath gives life to everyone, hear me!
I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes behold the red and purple sunset forever.
Make my hands respectful of the things you have created, and my ears keen to hear your voice.
Make me wise so I may understand the things you have taught our people.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and stone.
I seek strength, not to be stronger than my brother, but to fight my worst enemy: myself.
Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and righteous eyes
so that when life fades like the sun at nightfall, my spirit may approach you without shame.
